The loss of our club house

The interesting weather we have been having in the Fort has caused us to lose our club house. Hopefully it will be sorted before we really get into the paddling the season.

Nearly Time To Get Back On The Water

The days are getting longer and we're going to be busier with more river trips, sea trips and overnight trips. There is lots going on so I will try to break it down and not miss anything out.

Important News For All Club Members
Starting with ANOTHER KIT AMNESTY, therefore can you please return any equipment you may have borrowed by the 2nd of April so that we can sort it and repair or replace anything that might need replaced. We will also be putting a sign out board for kit in the shed so that we can keep track of our equipment because we don't have the funds to replace the kit we have. It will still work on a trust basis however we can't lose any kit! If we could make an effort to keep this up to date then it will help us keep track of the equipment.
Also on the 2nd of April we're  hoping to have a get together so that everyone will get a chance to meet everyone in the club and possibly find a few paddle partners or get a chance to meet people you might end up paddling with. We will be putting on Barbecue (B.Y.O.B bring your own beef) and it will be held behind the leisure centre so we can fix the shed at the same time!

Pool Sessions for Beginners (Kids/Adults)

Right now we have our kids pool sessions running for the next two Fridays until the 15th of March. Adult sessions will be running on the 12th, 19th and 26th of April. These will be strictly rolling sessions and will hopefully break down the art of rolling or help fine tune any problems you might have your roll. So feel free to come along if you are interested in rolling or helping someone get theirs. Although if the sessions become too popular then we will have to limit it to 20 people and have a half hour change over.

Adult Taster and Refresher Courses

Starting on the 17th of April we have beginner courses running for 5 weeks until the 15th of March. These will be trips to get you on the water for the first time or get you back in boat if you haven't been in one for a while.

Sea Trips
We have got some Sea Kayaking Trips planned and others in the pipeline.
On the Saturday the 20th and 21st of April we're planning to go to Peanmeanach Bothy as an overnight trip this could be made really short or long so anyone can come and join in.
We also have a trip leaving from Maillaig to Armadale on the 22nd and 23rd of June.
We also have a trip from Fort William to Oban planned for the 18th and 19th of May but these dates are not confirmed yet!
If you are interested in any of these then please get in touch via our e-mail address and let us know as soon as possible.
Also read the small print.

River Trips
Appart from Thursdays (see below) we will have some river trips running throughout the summer with dates still to be confirmed but this will depend on river levels as well and might be last minute.

Finally Tuesday and Thursdays
As we know the summer is on its way and this means longer evenings and the beginning of the Garry releases. So it will be back to our usual working hours with regards to Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Tuesdays will be our sea kayaking trips and Thursdays will be our river trips (Usually the Garry or Oich unless there is a lot of rain).
If you would like to take part in these then keep an eye on the e-mails and please remember the small print.
