Peanmeanach Trip

Lyndsay, Jen, Seonaid, Allan, Steve and Graham headed out on our first Sea Kayaking trip of the summer. They did an overnight trip to Peanmeanach Bothy which is a really easy and enjoyable paddle.

The group didn't have any swimmers on the way out and managed to get there safely. They were joined at the bothy by some chaps from Glasgow. Who had brought enough food and drink to last them the week which was good because they intended to be there for the week.

During the night they where woken by the disturbing sound of Lyndsay getting punched in the stomach followed by Jen whispering loudly "it's me, it's me!" Turns out she just got a fright when waking to see Jen standing over her on route to the toilet.

The weather wasn't as nice on the way back but it settled once they were on the water. Before reaching the cars they saw an otter scurrying into the water.

Looking Forward After the AGM

Hello everyone,

Firstly I would like to thank those that turned up to the AGM last night and those that sent their apologies. I think last night was quite productive in that we were able to make some decisions and move forward with a couple of issues. The minutes for this will be sent round as soon as possible.

With regards to future activites there is lots happening. So I hope you're keen to get involved.

River Trips -

The Garry is now running so we will be heading there on a regular basis (near enough every Thursday). So if you want to go along just show some interest by e-mailing here or on Facebook.
For those that aren't so confident we will have led river trips on the first weekend of every month. If you would like to be part of these trips the sooner you put your name down the better. The dates can be found below.
Furthermore Chris Dickinson has volunteered his time for one of these trips. This is great opportunity to get on the river and learn from a very experienced paddler to find out more check this link http://chrisdickinson.com/.
4th or 5th of May - Graham Boistelle
1st or 2nd of June - Chris Dickinson (I have already taken one space)
6th or 7th of July - (Looking for volunteer)
3rd or 4th of August - (Looking for volunteer)
7th or 8th of September - (Looking for volunteer)
As you can see we're looking for some volunteers for leading some of the dates so please get in touch if you are able to help out.
Sea Trips -

As usual the Tuesday evenings will be starting up very soon and will run through the summer. So far we have two coordinators for these trips Ken Stevenson and Paul Biggin but we are looking for one or more people to help them out with some of the Tuesdays. So if you think you can help out please get in touch.

For those interested in coming along to the Tuesday evening paddles, please note that it is completely up to the people coordinating the trip as to how it is run. Therefore it is not expected it transport and equipment might not always be available.
Beginner and Rolling Courses
Starting on the Tuesday the 23rd of April we have begginer/improver course for those wanting an introduction or wanting to go back to the basics. Again feel free to get in touch or let a friend know if you think they will enjoy it. These cost £10 and a membership form (e-mail the club for a membership form).
The rolling courses start this Friday so if you wish to learn how to roll or improve on it please come to the pool this Friday at 7.45pm
Peanmannach Bothy
The peanmannach bothy trip is next week (20 and 21st of April), let me know if you want to come along. It's not a long journey so it is open to anyone. Please get in touch and provide information on equipment you will need and a contact number if you want to join in.
Anyway I hope I managed to cover everything so thanks again for taking the time to read this and hope to see you on the water soon.

Our Annual General Meeting

On the 10th of April we will be holding our annual general meeting on at 7pm in Cobbs Bar (Nevisport). This meeting is open to everyone and will decide the committee for the coming year. So if you would like to take more of a role in the club or you're interested in sharing some ideas please come along.

We can hopefully resolve the situation with the shed, finalise plans for some of the trips and get ourselves sorted for this paddling season.

Hope to see you there!
